The World Bank has awarded the new Labor Code one of the most elastic in European Union and the new Companies Register Law allowed that. Time needed for registering a new company has been shortened to max. of 5 days and the same holds for trade license up to 7 days.

Average monthly wage in Slovakia was 15.825,- SKK / 525,30 in 2004 which is compared to Czech Republic (23.265,- SKK / 772,26 €), Poland (21.694,-SKK / 720,11 €), Hungary (22.923,-SKK / 760,90 €) and Austria (98.941,- SKK / 3.284,24 €) significantly lower level.
